JOEL CHIN of VP Records was shot dead last night at his home in Stony Hill on the northern outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica.
Local reports reveal that CHIN was pounced upon by gunmen as he exited his car who shot him several times. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead this morning.
As the grandson of VP Records founders Pat and Vincent Chin, he was the person who originally signed SEAN PAUL to the label.

New York-based VP Records was founded in 1979 by the late Vincent "Randy" Chin and his wife Patricia, who owned Randy's Records in Kingston as well as the Studio 17 recording studios.
The independent reggae record label is now run by Vincent Chin's sons with the assistance of Patricia.
