The UK's Jamaica 50 Festival line-up confirmed: tickets on sale 25 May

The full line-up for the Respect Jamaica 50 Festival in London - celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence from the UK - can now be revealed.

North Greenwich’s IndigO2 venue will play host to the 12-day event with some of the most iconic reggae artists appearing together on stage.

The confirmed line-up is as follows:

  • 25 Jul - LEE SCRATCH PERRY, JUNIOR MURVIN and MAD PROFESSOR
  • 26 JulDAMIAN "JR. GONG" MARLEY 
  • 28 Jul - TAPPA ZUKIE, U-ROY, YELLOWMAN, DENNIS ALCAPONE and WINSTON REEDY
  • 29 Jul - JAMAICAN LEGENDS BAND: Ernest Ranglin, Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Monty Alexander and BITTY MCLEAN
  • 30 Jul - MUTABARUKA live with the LLOYD PARKS BAND, THE ABYSSINIANS, BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH and JAH 9
  • 31 Jul - JOHN HOLT, THE MIGHTY DIAMONDS and LEROY HEPTONES SIBBLES
  • 01 Aug - FREDDIE MCGREGOR, MARCIA GRIFFITHS and MAXI PRIEST
  • 02 Aug - TARRUS RILEY, GYPTIAN and NATTY
  • 03 Aug - TOOTS & THE MAYTALS and JUNIOR TOOTS followed by LLOYD COXSONE and FATMAN HI FI 
  • 04 Aug - HORACE ANDY, JOHNNY CLARKE, MICHAEL PROPHET with the DUB ASANTE BAND followed by JAH SHAKA SOUND SYSTEM 
  • 05 Aug - MORGAN HERITAGE, SHAGGY and RAGING FYAH
  • 06 Aug - JIMMY CLIFF and ONENESS, DERRICK MORGAN, MAX ROMEO, GAYLADS, BOB ANDY plus DAVID RODIGAN

Other upcoming related events include ‘Messenger: the Bob Marley Exhibition’ at the BME from 24 July to 22 October; and ‘The Best in Jamaican Comedy’ at Proud2 from 27 July to 6 August.
