BEAT GOES BANG gets ready for debut show

New ska group BEAT GOES BANG, featuring original THE BEAT members Everett Morton and Mickey Billingham, will perform for the first time at a pub in Birmingham this Friday.

Morton set the new band up after being “sacked” from the Ranking Roger version of THE BEAT.

The new band line-up also includes guitarist Neil Deathridge, who played with THE BEAT from 2003 to 2010, bass player Faisal Rashid, vocalist Ross Lydon and tenor sax player Lukasz Machometa.

The show takes place at the Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath on 11 April and tickets are priced at £8. The band will also receive the backing of Saxa, THE BEAT’s original saxophonist, for the show.

Check out the Facebook event page for more information and tickets. Read the full feature in the Birmingham Mail.

Dave Wakeling’s THE ENGLISH BEAT also recently completed a tour of the UK.
