The full set of 2013 tour dates confirmed so far are:

The band was formed in the back streets of Hackney in the early months of 2011, and as well as his usual saxophone duties, Thompson takes on the lead vocals in a hand-picked line-up that features fellow MADNESS original Mark “Bedders” Bedford on bass.

According to the press material, “They came together from different parts of North, East, South and West London, with their common denominator being music, and in particular those good old Ska & Reggae rhythms that burst out of Jamaica in the mid to late 1960s.”

The full line-up includes:

  • Lee “Kix” Thompson (MADNESS) - saxophone and vocals
  • Mark “Bedders” Bedford (MADNESS) - bass
  • Steve “Roo-B-Doo” Rooney (LP6/KILL 2) - drums
  • Kevin “Born Ready” Burdett (MADNESS/DAMAGED GOODS) - guitar
  • Louis “Diamond Legs” Vause (CRUNCH/BUTTERFIELD 8) - piano
  • Seamus “Nice Man” Beaghen (MADNESS/BUTTERFIELD 8) - organ
  • Steve “Ice Cool” Turner (MADNESS/LP6) - tenor
  • Terry “Individual” Edwards (THE HIGSONS/BUTTERFIELD 8) - alto
  • Steve “Chalky” White (LP6/DANCE BRIGADE) - trumpet
  • Darren “Fordie” Fordham (REECE/DAMAGED GOODS) - vocals

The band’s forthcoming album, The Benevolence of Sister Mary Ignatius, was co-produced by Mike Pelanconi (PRINCE FATTY) and is out on 3 June.

The lead single from the album is a cover of DESMOND DEKKER’s mighty “Fu Man Chu”, which is given a vocal transfusion from classic British reggae artist BITTY MCLEAN.
