NINJA MAN curfew lifted; May 2013 trial revealed

Jamaican dancehall artist NINJA MAN will now be able to perform at shows over Christmas in the run-up to his trial which is set to take place on 13 May 2013.

The Home Circuit Court temporarily lifted the curfew order that had confined him to his home between 9pm and 6am.

The artist is expected to appear at the annual Boxing Day event Sting in Jamaica.

As reported in the Jamaica Observer, the curfew was first imposed on the deejay, real name Desmond Ballentine, when he and his son were offered JMD$2m bail in March after being held in custody for three years pending their murder trial.

Ballentine, his son Janiel, Dennis Clayton, and Seymour Samuels are to be tried on 13 May next year for the March 2009 murder of Ricardo “Ricky Trooper” Johnson in Kingston.

The curfew will be re-imposed on 7 January.
