ANTHONY B hospitalised in the US

Jamaican reggae singer ANTHONY B has been hospitalised in the US after collapsing shortly following a live performance in Dallas, Texas.

As reported in the Jamaica Observer the “Original Fire Man from Trelawny” has been at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center since Saturday and is awaiting an official diagnosis from doctors.

According to his publicist he collapsed at 4:30am on 6 October after performing in a Dallas night club.

The publicist told the Jamaica Star: "At this time there is no confirmation from the doctors as to the exact diagnosis, but we strongly believe that Anthony B has been overworked and strongly suspect dehydration.

"His schedule has been crazy. He's been travelling to Europe, Africa, the UK, India, Australia and the United States, with barely a break in-between," she said.

The singer has a long run of shows coming up across Europe, including shows in Newcastle (12 October), Brixton (28 October) and Wembley (7 November).

The first two weeks of the European tour may well be “put off” depending on the diagnosis.
